Auction of Promises – Charlestown Fundraising Event for Teens Unite: Fighting Cancer
We’re thrilled to announce a special charity fundraising event in Charlestown, Cornwall – our Auction of Promises in aid of Teens Unite: Fighting Cancer.

What is an Auction of Promises?
Unlike a traditional auction, an Auction of Promises offers guests the chance to bid on unique experiences, services, and one-of-a-kind opportunities generously donated by local businesses and community members.
Every winning bid supports Teens Unite Fighting Cancer, helping young people rebuild their lives and confidence after a cancer diagnosis.
Why Support Teens Unite Fighting Cancer?
Every day in the UK, seven teenagers and young adults are diagnosed with cancer. Teens Unite is the only charity that provides long-term, ongoing support for this age group, helping them overcome isolation and look forward with hope.
By taking part in our Charlestown charity auction, you’re not only enjoying a memorable evening but also making a life-changing difference to young people facing cancer.
A Night to Remember in Charlestown
The event takes place at the welcoming Harbour Beer House in Charlestown, one of Cornwall’s most atmospheric venues. Expect an evening full of excitement, entertainment, and community spirit – with plenty of chances to win something unforgettable!

MAIN AUCTION RUNNING ORDER
Main auction begins at 7pm (ish) with a 10-minute break every five lots or so.
Lot 1 — Mounted ‘Gig Racing’ print - value £40
Cscape Art Print - Sarah Blakey paints in Chromacolour, a highly-pigmented, permanent, and lightfast medium, first developed for colouring animation cells and adapted to a high-quality artists’ paint. The velvety matte finish gives her paintings the depth and vibrancy she seeks.

Lot 4 — St Austell Brewery tour for 2 - value £50
An engaging behind-the-scenes tour of our brewery, sharing our story from 1851 to the present day – and everything in between. Please allow around two hours to complete the tour. You’ll visit live production areas, so we ask that all guests wear closed-toe shoes and we’ll kit you out with one of our very stylish hi-vis vests!

A wonderfully diverse selection of items made by Cornish crafters, kindly donated from their displays at the Craft Kiln here in Charlestown.
Lot 9 — 90-min live music session - value £150
At a location of your choice! Esther Baker performs a wide range of music, perfect for garden parties, weddings, restaurants, and more. As a soloist, Esther is versatile and can adapt to almost any occasion, creating a musical experience tailored to your special event.
Lot 10 — St Austell Golf Club 4-ball voucher - value £180

Polychromos artists' pencils are highly regarded internationally by professionals and semi-professionals for their unmatched quality, while Sennelier Soft Pastel Card is an artist-grade, high-roughness pastel card with a velvety grain surface.
Lot 15 — Framed print ‘Lady Daphne’ - value £50
Donated by Liz at the Atishoo Gallery, painted by Paul Clark, a professional artist and published author who has been teaching watercolour painting and drawing techniques to adult learners for over 25 years.
Lot 16 — Mounted ‘Gribben Head’ photograph - value £90
CScape Art - Mick Blakey specialises in atmospheric prints of Cornwall’s coast and landscape, using panoramic views, unique angles, and slow exposures. He seeks out less-travelled locations to capture distinctive shots for his gallery.
Lot 17 — 1m wood & resin table centrepiece - value £90
Absolutely stunning table centrepiece! Sure to be a conversation piece and the envy of your friends!
Lot 18 — 'Baccarat' crystal pendant - value £150+
Very rare 'Baccarat' glamour heart pendant, with vintage clear crystal heart mounted in sterling silver, now out of production.
Lot 19 — 1977 Warre’s Vintage Port - value £100+
1977 Warre’s Vintage Port is rich and highly concentrated; it has evolved into a superb Port. Fragrant cassis and prunes nose, fleshy texture, loaded with ripe berry flavours, mellow tannins, and a lush fruity finish. Powerful, yet impressively balanced. The 1977s have reached the middle stage of what will prove to be a long and distinguished life. Hugely enjoyable now, and it will only get better.

Lot 26 — 7 feet tall Garden Boat Seat - value £750
Kindly donated by Michael at Otter Boats, this is a classic rowing boat garden seat that adds an authentic nautical theme to your garden. Relax on this charming classic rowing boat garden seat, featuring sturdy fibreglass construction, an oak seat, and finished with a heavy-duty natural hemp rope around the edge. Beautifully finished in turquoise.
Lot 27 — ‘Seas the Day’ 1hr Boat Charter from Mevagissey for 12 - value £80
One hour private charter, enjoying the Cornish coastline, stopping off for swimming, and refreshments onboard. All safety equipment included. For up to twelve passengers.

Lot 28 — 4 dog agility sessions - value £100
Dog agility is a hugely popular recreation. Handlers and their dog navigate a course of up to 20 obstacles with the aim of a clear run in the fastest time. It's a fantastic way to build your bond with your dog, improve obedience and ability to work under pressure, give them a job to do which fulfils their drive to work, and improve the fitness of both dog and owner.
